Carl Elliot Puts Money on the Table...
Who's faking it, Mr. Rotenberg?
I am a little surprised that Dr. Elliot feels that he has to offer to pay for information requested under the freedom of information act. A few years ago any fees were waived by Georgia Tech when I asked them to provide data concerning the Sainfort/Jacko affair. They were most cooperative and responded very quickly to my requests - a model we should perhaps follow at a transparent university like Minnesota?

Dear Ms. McKinney:
Pursuant to the state open records act, I request access to and copies of the “evaluation to consent” forms for all subjects in the following research studies conducted at the University of Minnesota:
“Comparison of Atypicals in First Episode Psychosis” or CAFÉ Study, Principal Investigator Stephen Olson
(NCT00034892) and “Clinical Antipsychotic Trials of Intervention Effectiveness” or CATIE Study, Principal Investigator Stephen Olson (NCT00014001.)
I understand that subject identifiers will be redacted.
I will pay up to $1000.
If my request is denied in whole or part, I ask that you justify all deletions by reference to specific exemptions of the act.
Thank you for your assistance.
Yours sincerely,
Carl Elliott
